How to make a braided knot in macramé

To make a braided knot in macramé follow the steps below:

  1. Separate the cords as shown in the drawing.
  2. Take the second cord (shown in pink) and tie 2 knots on it with the third cord. To do this, bring the third cord over the second cord and wrap it around and pull it out from underneath. Keep the pink cord at approximately a 45º angle.
  3. Continue with the pink cord and tie 2 knots on it with the fourth cord.
  4. Continue with the pink cord and tie 2 knots on it with the fifth cord.
  5. Take the first cord (shown in blue) and place it approximately at a 45º. Tie 2 knots on it with the second cord.
  6. Continue with the blue cord and tie 2 knots on it with the third cord.
  7. Take the second cord (shown in yellow) and place it vertically. Tie 2 knots on it with the fourth cord.
  8. Take the second cord (shown in yellow) and place it vertically. Tie 2 knots on it with the third cord (shown in orange).
  9. Continue with the yellow cord and place it horizontally. Tie 2 knots on it with the fourth cord (shown in blue).
  10. Continue with the yellow cord and place it at approximately a 45º angle. Tie 2 knots on it with the fifth cord (shown in pink).
  11. Repeat steps 2 to 10 until of desired length.
